Forbidden City
故宫博物院
Donghua Gate 东华门

Now that we have entered the Forbidden City through the south main gate, let's approach from the east. The path from the east that passes the Donghua Gate 东华门 (Dōnghuá mén) gives a different view of the Forbidden City and the moat. The gate is accessed by a bridge over the moat. If you go into the Donghua Gate you would be in the southeastern section of the Forbidden City. At this time, the Palace Museum uses this area for offices and workshops and it is not open to the public.
