Forbidden City
故宫博物院
Donghua Gate 东华门

Our path doesn't take us through Donghua Gate 东华门, but to the left, along the moat. Donghua is sometimes translated as "East Flowery Gate", but Beijingers don't think of it like that. It is just a name. The character has many meanings including: flowery; illustrious; Chinese; magnificent; prosperous; extravagant; time; and China. It is also the address of my server, so now you know why it's hua.umf.maine.edu.
