Forbidden City

Peeking through a slit in a doorway on the west side of Supreme Harmony Square shows some modern buildings designed to blend into the palace architecture. I got the impression at the time that they were barracks for the troops that guard the Palace Museum, but they could as easily be offices for the staff.
