Forbidden City
Hall of Supreme Harmony 太和殿

The dais and the throne are carved out of zimu, red sandalwood. The dais is about 6.5 feet high. The Imperial Dragon Throne has five dragons coiled around the back and handrests. The screen behind it features sets of nine dragons, again using the numbers nine and five as symbols of the emperor. The cranes stand for longevity, and the cloisonné tripods are symbols of power.
