Forbidden City
Hall of Central Harmony 中和殿

The Hall of Central Harmony 中和殿 (Zhōnghé Diàn) was used as an ante-chamber for the emperor and his party to make last minute adjustments to their clothing and accoutrements before proceeding to the Hall of Supreme Harmony for major holidays and events. Everything was timed. The emperor made an entrance at a certain point in the rites, so he waited here for his cue.
