Gate of Tranquil Longevity 宁寿门

The male lion in front of the Gate of Tranquil Longevity 宁寿门 (Níngshòu Mén) plays with a ball. The lion is a symbol of imperial power and guards gates. There are other symbols, such as the elephant, but the most common is the lion.
