Tile End with Four Cranes 四鹤纹半瓦当

Tile End with Four Cranes
Pottery Designs from the State of Qi in the Warring States Period 战国齐

The crane is a symbol of longevity during the Ming and Qing dynasties. I don't know whether or not it had achieved that distinction during the Eastern Zhou. I like the figures of the cranes which show exhuberant motion, unlike most of the animals frozen in tiles.
