While the previous invention allowed the business man to print the results of his accounts it provided no way to check that the entries made were accurate. Thus, a viewing machine was developed so you could tell whether what was entered into the machine was accurate. Placing offerings of oranges and apples in the vessel at the top helped to ensure the continued success of your business.
