Large Double Ear Pot with Large Circles Filled with Lattice Designs
The Painted Pottery of the Banshan Culture 半山文化彩陶

The title really describes this pot, but note the small teardrop decorations that fill the spaces between the major design elements. Also note the scallop design below the center ring. It is an elaboration of the type found on succeeding generations of design. Looking at the development of English furniture from Chippendale through the Victorian era is a matter of elaboration until the Victorians produced so many flourishes that the only direction possible was strict modernism. You can see a similar elaboration in the move from Ming to Qing furniture designs.
