High Waist Pottery Li with Wide Flared Mouth
The Painted Pottery of the Xiajiadian Culture 夏家店文化彩陶

A li is a three legged cooking vessel with a wide mouth. The three legged design allows it to be put directly into the fire and provide maximum surface to heat the liquids in the pot. The legs are hollow. It must have been a pain to clean.
