Neolithic Era
Three-legged Bowl

This bowl was discovered at a dig at Beiliu Village, Weinan County, Shaanxi. The addition of legs raised the bowl off the ground and the moisture that would weaken it and make a mess. It also added stability compared to round bottomed bowls that would tip easily. It was made between 7000 to 8000 years ago during the Neolithic era.
