Double-gourd Shaped Water Vase
葫芦瓶, 水器

The double gourd shape of this bottle lets it be carried easily, as well as allowing it to be tipped with one hand for pouring. It was excavated from Jiangzhai, Lintong District, Xi'an. It dates to between 5000 and 7000 years ago.

A similar bottle was found at the Banpo Village site, although that one was much rougher in appearance and execution. That bottle is shown below and is described HERE
