| This set of objects was used to grind pigments. Different grinders would have been adapted to different materials. It is known that inks made of ash and animal fats were used, but other colors could be gotten from certain kinds of rocks and plants. These items date to between 7000 and 5000 years ago and were excavated from Jiangzhai, Lintong. |
