Warring States Period
Bronze Plowshare
铜铧   农具

This bronze plowshare (ploughshare) was used during the Warring States Period (475 - 221 BC). It was excavated at a site in Qishan County. The plowshare is one of the most important pieces of equipment on a farm. The greatest labor of farming comes when tilling the land. The sharpness and angle of the blade of the plow make an enormous difference in how much land can be planted by an individual farmer and thus predicts his productivity.
