Qin Dynnasty
Rectangular Patterned Brick
几何纹方砖   建筑材料

This rectangular brick with a geometric pattern was found when excavating the Epang Palace of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi in Lintong County. The palace had not been completed at the time of his death and it was left to his son to complete both the palace and the mausoleum. The tile has a pattern of suns. The raised patterns made the floors less slippery as well as adding a detailed decorative touch. It dates to the Qin Dynasty (221 - 206 BC).
