Eastern Han
Green Glazed Pottery Dog - Funerary Object
绿釉陶狗   随葬品

Modern building has uncovered many new sites. Traditional Chinese buildings didn't have foundations. As buildings become taller, they need to have a firm grip on the earth and so the bulldozers are brought in and the archaeologists have a chance to discover a whole new old world. This dog was found when the Hongqing Motor Company in Xi'an was putting up a building. The dog was made as a burial object in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 - 220 AD).
