Pottery Figure with a Bow Bag - Funerary Object

This pottery figure was made as a funereal object to be placed in the grave of an individual to provide protection or company in the next life. The figure carries a bow bag. It was made during the Northern Wei Period (386 to about 534). It was found at a site in Caochangpo, Xi'an.
