Animal to Guard Tomb - Funerary Object
镇墓兽   随葬品

This mythical animal was placed on guard inside a burial chamber to keep evil spirits away. Notice the human ear and facial features combined with a dragon-like ridged back. He dates to the Southern Dynasties (420 to 389 AD). He was found in a dig at Ankang.
