Polo Ponies - Funerary Object
陶打马球俑   随葬品

These pottery figures of polo players and their ponies were funeral objects in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 AD). They were excavated from a tomb in Guanshan, Lintong County. Polo may have been imported into China from Persia or vice-versa. The first instances of the game occur during the Han Dynasty.
