Green Glazed Bottom Fill Pot
青釉提梁倒灌壶

Take a close look at the handle on the green glazed pot pictured above. Yes, it is attached to the lid, making it impossible to open it. In fact, the lid is mearly a design, the pot is solid. So, how do you fill it? There is a hint in the title, but what would the interior of the pot look like? The pot dates to the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127 AD) and was excavated at a site in Binxian County. The pot is classed as Yaozhou pottery and serves as a symbol of the Yaozhou Porcelain Museum. It has a phoenix-shaped handle, lotus flower designs on the body, and the spout is a mother lion.
