White Porcelain Statue of Bodhisattva
白瓷菩萨像

This whilte porcelain figure of a bodhisattva was found in a dig in Fengxiang County. It dates to the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). A bodhisattva is a person who is on their way to enlightenment, or a person who has dedicated themselves to spend time to enlighten others. It is a symbol of great compassion because teachers return multiple times to help others toward enlightenment while delaying their own full enlightenment and nirvana.
