All About Eve was based on a short story by Mary Orr. It is a story of the intense competition of the theater, a world where there is only one star, one part, and a thousand hopefuls. It was made into an Academy Award winning motion picture in 1950. It was adapted by Joseph Mankiewicz, who also directed the picture. The present radio production was aired October 5th, 1951 on the Lux Radio Theater. The show was produced by Mr. William Keighley, who is also the announcer.
