- steamed meat dumpling
(baozi - generally larger than a jiaozi and steamed rather than boiled -- pork unless specified)
- white bun filled with jam
(often filled with sweet bean paste as well as fruit jams)



- pork strips and soft fried noodles
- black mushrooms and pork strips with noodles
- deep-fried noodles in thick soy sauce
(chopped meat with the sauce inside)
- plain soup noodles, vegetarian noodles

- cooked rice, rice
(don't just say mi3 if you want to have it ready to eat!)
- shrimp dumpling
(seafood - mostly shrimp, may have pork and various vegetables)
Eggs

- scrambled eggs and tomato
Soup

- chicken soup
(made with a guinea hen or capon - considered very healthy, and medicinal)

- laver soup
(a type of seaweed, bitter)
- seafood soup
(literally -- three seafood soup - mostly shrimp)
- pork balls and winter squash in soup
(the meat balls are plain, no vegetables, otherwise they would fall apart in the soup)

Sweets

- candied potatoes
(Chinese dish in which potatoes or fruit are caramelized by stir frying in water and sugar -- delicious.)
- eight treasures steamed rice pudding
(sweet)
